The U.S. Forest Service is getting ready to resume construction work associated with the cleanup of six abandoned mines on the Verde Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest.

At approximately 5:56 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, Prescott National Forest reported that they received multiple calls of a wildfire burning on Granite Mountain.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. — The Prescott National Forest is initiating opportunity for public input for a proposal to construct 17 miles of new trails and associated trailhead improvements in the White Spar/Bean Peaks area three miles south of downtown Prescott.
