WILLIAMS, Ariz. — Defense can make all the difference. Especially when you have a goal keeper like Trevor Hausmann. The Williams High School soccer team couldn't ask for a better fit for the team. Hausmann had 19 saves out of 24 shots taken in the match against Ash Fork last Thursday, August 31.

"Trevor has great field awareness, has quick hands, and does a great job communicating with the defense line. He's the last line of defense for the team, and he's always there,” said WHS Coach Christi Endicott.

Even though the Vikings didn't win the match, Endicott is pleased with the progress the team has made.

"Every game and practice, you can really see the improvement our team has made," she said. "I'm proud to be a part of this team. It's full of leaders and positive players. Every day they become more confident."

The Vikings played evenly with the Spartans for the first half, with a 1-1 score at halftime. Cody Daly and Amanda Burlington each scored a penalty kick for the Vikings.

The final score was 5-2, for Ash Fork.

Next week WHS will host the Page Sand Devils Sept. 6. Game time is 3:45.
