Obituary: Connie Calvin Stockton

Connie Calvin Stockton of Evansville, Indiana passed away Oct. 24, at the Evansville Protestant Home surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old.

Connie was born April 25, 1939 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Lorraine Pearl Owens. After graduating high school, he went on to serve for 4 years in the United States Air Force as a mechanic working on the F-105 Thunderchief fighter/bombers while stationed at Bitburg Air Base, Germany.

Connie was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Co. for 32 years. He and his family resided in both Jal, New Mexico and Williams, Arizona as he worked in both measurement and the trucking departments.

Family and friends knew him as a kind, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a wonderfully charismatic spirit and was known to be completely selfless in his actions. Helping others was his true passion.

Connie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janie (Gresham) Stockton; daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Cherry and Paula (Clint) Mann; and grandchildren, Calvin Cherry, Sydney Mann and Savanna Mann, all who were his greatest joys in life.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at the Evansville Protestant Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their exceptional care and support to not only Connie but his family members as well.

A private graveside service will be held by his family. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the Evansville Protestant Home: Activities Department, 3701 Washington Ave, Evansville, IN. 47714.
