Prescribed burn planned midweek north of Bellemont
Forest managers throughout Arizona have been conducting prescribed fires as cooler temperatures and calm days have arrived. Coconino National Forest is conducting burns north of Bellemont this week, as well as Lake Mary and Mormon Lake. Kaibab National Forest ignited several burns over the past few weeks, but announced they had accomplished their fall prescribed fire goals and objectives for the 2023 year, treating a total of 16,251 acres in the month of October.
