Rangers closed and evacuated South Entrance Station, South Entrance Road and Center Road. The subject turned around and never arrived at Grand Canyon.

Later that evening, rangers responded to a rollover motor vehicle collision on Center Road. A 52-year-old male from Braselton, Georgia, swerved his sedan to avoid a truck, skidded into the lane of oncoming traffic, and clipped a vehicle. The sedan slowly went into the ditch and flipped over onto its roof after stopping atop a culvert. The vehicle occupants received medical attention and the male driver was given warnings for unsafe operation and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
