Vikings baseball defeats Duncan in first round
WILLIAMS, Ariz. — After a rough start, the No. 2 Vikings squeezed in a 10-9 win against No. 15 Duncan in the 1A State playoffs first round April 29.
J.P. Echeverria got the walkoff hit for the Vikings, bringing in two base runners to snag the win.
The team now advances to the second round with Mogollon at home May 6 at 2 p.m.
In earlier action, the Vikings defeated Ash Fork/Seligman 16-9 to end their season April 21.
Danny Siegfried is ranked second in the 1A Conference with seven homeruns, and Tyler Jensen is second with 38 RBIs.
