WHS senior spotlight: Riya Patel
Riya Patel is a senior at Williams High School. She has attended school in Williams for four years. She moved to Williams from Los Angeles.
In high school, Riya participated in hotel restaurant management.
Riya’s favorite class in high school was personal finance.
“I’m going into business, so I like it because it teaches you about the business world,” Riya said.
Riya’s favorite teacher at WHS was Mrs. Mitkowski.
“She’s a fun teacher. She teaches a lot of cool things, and has fun with her class.” Riya said.
Riya’s favorite high school memory was the senior-freshmen rope course field trip.
“We were just messing with the freshmen and were falling off the course. It was a fun time,” Riya said.
In her downtime, Riya likes walking her dogs. She has three dogs named Sparky, Dream and Cloud.
Outside of school, Riya works at Carl’s Jr.
After graduation, Riya plans to attend a community college and transfer to a university. She wants to study business and pursue a career in marketing or accounting.
