Williams Vikings and Grand Canyon Phantoms face-off
WILLIAMS, Ariz. — The Vikings and Phantoms girls and boys basketball teams returned from the holiday break with a slew of games.
The Vikings girls and boy notched three wins a piece, taking wins against the Phantoms Jan. 12. The Lady Vikes won 59-28, and the Vikings boys team won 79-42.
The Lady Vikings faced Ash Fork Mayer and Grand Canyon over the past two weeks.
Viking Kadence Orozco hit double figures in the three games, 14, 15, and 12, for the Vikings. Shaelee Echeverria contributed 15, 9 and 21.
The Vikings boys had four easy wins over Seligman, Ash Fork, Mayer and Grand Canyon before suffering a loss to Basis Jan. 15.
Bob Shepherd scored 15 against Grand Canyon, Bryton Cox had 15 against Seligman, and Nickoli Cody had 19 against both Mayer and Ash Fork.
The Vikings are on the road for the next several games. The Lady Vikes face Seligman at home Jan. 25. The Vikings face Grand Canyon again at home Jan. 28. The Phantoms next face Basis Jan. 18 at home at 5:30 p.m.
