Tusayan ice rink
The Tusayan Ice Rink, located between McDonald’s and the Grand Hotel, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon - 7 p.m. Reservations can be made for Monday and Thursday by calling (928) 638-9909.
Shuttle bus operations
Shuttle bus services continue to be modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the NPS.
With the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, Paul Revere (shuttles) will be reducing capacity to 31 passengers and using the rear door only for boarding.
Currently, Paul Revere is doing all they can to keep both routes operating; however, they are now operating fewer buses on each route. Visitors will experience longer wait times between buses.
Grand Canyon and Tusayan community wellness meetings
Bi-monthly community wellness meetings occur the first and third Wednesday of every month between 2:30-3:30 p.m. The public is welcome to provide updates they’d like to share or ask questions or concerns regarding wellness and safety for the Grand Canyon community. Narcotics Anonymous
Narcotics Anonymous is offered at the Grand Canyon Recreation Center in Grand Canyon Village on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. More information is available from Kenny B. at (541) 324-5573.
Call for local artists
Beginning in January, the Grand Canyon Recreation Center will be exhibiting local artwork. A section of the Community Rec. Center will be dedicated to this monthly exhibit. Artists must be able to display 6-10 pieces. For the month of January, a local photographer will be displaying photos of nature he’s captured while backpacking. His 12-piece exhibit began Jan. 6. NPS headquarters under construction
The NPS Headquarters building will be undergoing construction. According to NPS, the project will be ongoing until June 2022.
Yoga at Grand Canyon Rec Center
Yoga with Samantha is offered at the Grand Canyon Recreation Center in Grand Canyon Village on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Yoga with Stephanie is offered at the Grand Canyon Recreation Center in Grand Canyon Village on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Grand Canyon Rec Center is located at 2 Mohave St. in Grand Canyon Village. CASA in Flagstaff seeks advocates
CASA of Coconino County recruits, trains and supports volunteers to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings. CASA is currently looking for foster families. Interested parties can contact Felicia Bicknell at fbicknell@courts.az.gov.
Grand Canyon Food Pantry hours
Grand Canyon Food Pantry is open Monday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday from noon – 2 p.m., and Saturday from 2 – 4 p.m. More information is available by emailing gcfoodpantryinc@gmail.com.
