Ashlynn is a senior at Williams High School. She has attended WHS since kindergarten.

She has played volleyball all four years of high school and is involved in club volleyball.

Ashlynn said her parents, grandparents and many other relatives have also attended school in Williams.

Her favorite classes include Mr. Brownlee’s law enforcement class and Mr. Elliot’s history class.

“I absolutely love going to history class,” she said.

Ashlynn said Mrs. Gutshall has been a big influence in her life.

“I think she’s helped every student in their own way. She’s so easy to talk to and get advice from,” she said.

Ashlynn said Athletic Director Philip Echeverria has also encouraged her.

She said her favorite memories at WHS include volleyball games and homecoming.

“Homecoming is my absolute favorite time all four years. My class would get so close with each other that one week. We were so competitive and so fun,” she said.

Outside of school, Ashlynn enjoys hanging out with her friends and visiting Flagstaff.

During the summer, she has worked at Dairy Queen and at Oh Sweetie’s in downtown Williams.

After graduation, Ashlynn plans to attend college in Ft. Lewis, Colorado where she plans to study athletic training and play volleyball. She would like to become a coach or physical therapist.

Ashlynn said the coronavirus pandemic has impacted her senior year.

“It was not super horrible but it definitely took away some things — I didn’t get a whole junior season of club volleyball. We had our whole second half of our junior year taken away,” she said.

Ashlynn said she will miss everything about Williams after she leaves.

“I’m going to miss the simple things like going to lunch with my friends or standing in the hallway for five minutes before we go to class.”
