WEMS announces March Students of the Month
WILLIAMS, Ariz. — Williams Elementary Middle School recently announced its March Students of the Month (SOM). Students are nominated by their teachers.
The pre-k SOM is Luis Salinas. Luis is a wonderful student, and a great role model for the other students in class. He is well-liked by his peers. Luis can follow two-step directions and loves to participate during circle time. He has a big imagination, and loves playing with dinosaurs in the discovery center.
The kindergarten SOM is Blake Thomas. Blake never gets his name on the board. He tries hard on his work and doesn’t waste time. He is respectful to adults and gets along with all the students. We are so glad Blake is in our class.
The first grade SOM is Zorian Soto-Acuna. Zorian came into first grade a little unsure of himself. He now has great confidence in his abilities. He is often the first one to raise his hand to answer a question. He even offers to help others or show them how to do something. He gets along well with his peers both in class and at recess. He is very respectful with everyone he encounters. Zorian is a wonderful example of a student that works hard and SOARs.
The second grade SOM is Braxton Kuykendall. Braxton has grown so much this year. He is one of my top math students and he is starting to read questions out loud off the board. Braxton’s participation, in my class, has gone from minimal to being an active participator. What a joy to see!
The third grade SOM is Lillian Auld. Lillian is very quiet but can always be found doing what is expected of her. She works hard on all assignments and has a strong work ethic. She is a good example to her peers and is a kind and caring friend. Lillian always turns in her homework and does anything assigned to the best of her ability. Lillian is also an awesome artist. I enjoy having Lillian in my class.
The fourth grade SOM is Millie Pope. Recently, Millie has been super focused on her work and doing well on all of her assignments. She is always there as a helping hand when you need her and a great friend when someone is in need. She is a great listener, role model and such a kind-hearted young lady. We are super lucky to have such a wonderful student in our class this year.
The fifth grade SOM is Machias Reddeye. He is new to our school and has jumped right in without missing a beat. He completes his assignments on time, asks for help when he needs it, and is a great role model for his peers. Machias is kind and an excellent friend to everyone he has met. We are so happy to have in in our class.
This month’s female SOM for sixth grade is Laynie Johnson. Laynie is a diligent worker who takes her work above and beyond expectations. She enjoys the journey of learning and takes thinking to a whole new level. Laynie turns her work in on time with a high level of quality and effort. She works well with others and adds to a positive academic environment. Laynie exemplifies what it means to be a WEMS Falcon.
This month’s male SOM for sixth grade is Johnny Romero. This is a student who shows up daily with a smile on his face, ready to work and learn, and collaborate with his peers. Johnny actively participates in classroom discussions, which can become quite entertaining due to his dry sense of humor. He is kind to his classmates and is a friend to many. These are just a few of the reasons why Johnny was selected as our SOM.
Additionally WEMS honored these online students for their dedication, consistency, hard work and perseverance during their online learning experience. Daily they signed into class, participated and completed the assignments given to them.
Ethan Viloria, Renata Cortez, Destiny Martinez, Zachary Sisson, Kailee Yellowhair, Kenyon Jones, Logan Sloss, Delton Sanders, Zoe Sloss, Bryana Goings, Makenna Angulo, Cash Garibay and Eli Goings.
