WHS senior spotlight: Emily Noble
Emily is a senior at Williams High School. She has attended Williams schools since kindergarten.
“A lot of us have grown up together, especially in our grade,” Emily said. “I remember all these guys as kids.”
Emily has been active in FCCLA — a school culinary program for the last two years. She is also the senior class president. She said because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the senior class has not had as many activities as it has in the past, but said they are trying to keep school spirit alive.
“We’ve been able to arrange school spirit weeks for the entire school,” she said. “We’re hoping to get Viking pride up because people are kind of down in the dump lately.”
Emily said her favorite classes are with Mr. Elliot and English with Mrs. Gutshall.
“Mr. Elliot is a fun teacher, he doesn’t make it boring and Mrs. Gutshall always makes sure everyone always knows what going on," she said. "She is super helpful with everything, even if it’s not with that class. You can always go talk to her about anything."
Emily said her mom has been a big influence in her life and Ms. Moreno has been a big encouragement.
Some of her favorite memories from high school include homecoming.
“Anything where we got to do a lot as a school because we’re not just a class, we’re a lot like a family,” she said. “The best part is spending time with everybody.”
Outside of school, Emily enjoys horseback riding and art. She has worked at Dairy Queen for the last four years.
After graduation, Emily said she is not entirely sure what she wants to do, but does hope to attend college in the future. She would like to study business or animal science.
She said being a senior during the coronavirus pandemic has mainly impacted school spirit.
“We haven’t been able to do as much stuff as we normally would,” she said. “Really it takes a toll on especially the seniors because we might not get to have a prom, our graduation is probably going to be different … it’s just changed a lot of stuff.”
Emily said she will miss her best friends as well as all of her classmates after graduation.
