WILLIAMS, Ariz. — The 11th annual Mountain Man 5k and10k race returns to Williams Sept. 6.

The event, hosted by Williams Lions Club, will be an in-person and virtual event. The event kicks off at 7 a.m.

The Williams Lions Club has several community initiatives that include supporting the Williams Seniors with meal funding and helping in a Toys for Tots drive with the local school district.

Additionally, the Lions also provide vision screenings in the community to assist with promoting eye health and providing glasses to those in need.

To start the event, the Williams Mountain Men will be firing off rifles and in-person participants will be running to win a coon skin cap. All participants will receive a Mountain Man finisher medal and a goodie bag. Those interested in participating virtually can post a running picture on the Williams Lions Club Facebook page to be included in the drawing for a Coon Skin Cap.

For those doing the in person 5k or 10k, this event takes place on Labor Day. For those doing the event virtually, they may run/walk/cycle/swim at any point between registration and Sept. 6.
