High winds and cold temperatures expected in Williams
Spoiled by warm temperatures this weekend, Williams residents and visitors will experience a fast-moving storm that could bring light snow and cold temperatures Monday through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, there is a 70 percent chance of light snow above 6,000 feet, with more snow at higher elevations. The storm could bring up to one inch of snow to Williams by Wednesday.
Gusty winds began Sunday afternoon and high wind warnings and wind advisories remain in effect until Monday for most of northern Arizona. Strong winds of 30 – 40 mph from the south to southwest are expected, with gusts of 60 -75 mph in some areas.
Very cold winter temperatures will arrive Monday and continue through Wednesday. High temperatures Monday will be around 33 degrees, 20 to 30 degrees colder than Sunday. Tuesday highs will be 5 to 10 degrees colder than Monday. Overnight lows Tuesday and Wednesday morning will be in the single digits and teens.
Temperatures will be back in the 50s by Thursday.
