Vikings cruise past Mayer; Lady Vikes take on Ash Fork
WILLIAMS, Ariz. — The Williams Vikings have moved into first place in the 1A Conference after the Arizona Interscholastic Association released its rankings Oct. 1.
The Vikings faced Mayer Oct. 4, where they handily won 65-8.
The Vikings are now 6-1, just ahead of Hayden 4-1 and Bagdad 5-1 as they head into the final games of the regular season.
The team next faces El Capitan at home for senior night Oct. 11.
The Lady Vikings are ranked third in the 1A Conference with an 11-1 record. The are chasing Mogollon in first place and St. David in second.
The girls beat Ash Fork, 3-1, Oct. 1, and Joseph City, 3-0, Oct. 3 before heading to the Chandler Invitational Oct. 5.
The Lady Vikings faced Mayer Oct. 8 and will play Basis Oct. 9 before heading to a tournament in Joseph City Oct. 11. They return to Williams Oct. 15 to face Mogollon at 6 p.m.
