Search and rescue forces in Yavapai County kick off annual fundraisers
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Force is beginning its annual fundraiser and is asking for the public’s help.
The auxiliary perform patrols in unincorporated areas, conduct cold case investigations, evacuations during fires and search and rescue operations. It has over 350 volunteers who stand ready, 24/7, in any weather conditions to help keep the public safe where they live and in the backcountry. The fundraiser is a combined campaign by volunteers in Protection, Jeep Posse, the Verde Search and Rescue Team and the Yavapai County Search and Rescue Team. As a 501c3 charitable organization, tax deductible donation help offset significant out-of-pocket costs to volunteers who search for lost, injured or stranded persons, anywhere in the county, including cities and towns.
The auxiliary is asking for the public’s help by going to its website at www.YCSOAF.ORG and clicking on the donate tab or by keeping an eye out for mailers. Citizens can contact the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office with information or questions at (928) 771-3260 or at www.ycsoaz.gov.
