Obituary: Allison Renee Brown Hooks

Allison Renee Brown Hooks, a native Williams resident, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona surrounded by her loving family.

Allison was born on December 3, 1975 at Flagstaff Hospital in Flagstaff, Arizona to Mrs. Rosie L. Gray Brown and Mr. Anthony Norman Brown. This date would become a National Holiday for her family and friends.

Allison accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Galilee Baptist Church in Williams under the leadership of the late Reverand Luther Clayton. She was an active member until leaving home to explore the world. Allison continued her spiritual growth and united with the New Home Baptist Church in Phoenix under the leadership of Pastor Oscar Tillman. Current leadership is Pastor Darryl and Erica Jackson.

Allison attended Williams Elementary/Middle School and Williams High School, graduating in 1993. Throughout her school years, she was involved in many activities, with her favorite being cheerleading. Allison continued her education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Mesa Community College, and the University of Phoenix.

Allison was family oriented and loved spending time with her family, sister/best friend Gretchen, the loves of her life son Isaiah, and niece Olivia aka Bugs, and her many cousins and friends. Allison’s greatest joy came from being a mom to her number one man Isaiah, and her mini-me Bugs.

Allison had a beautiful smile and a sparkle in her eye. She was full of fun and laughter and loved to re -enact stories, always adding her version, which was sure to be funny. Allison will forever be loved and missed, and she will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

Uncles: Henry Brown, Jr. (Esther), Avondale, Robert Brown (Barbara), Surprise, Edgar Brown (Nell), Williams, Ortha Gray (Janis), Harker Heights, Texas, Ben Gray, Anthem, Jay Brown, Williams, Dock Gray (Jacque), Mesa, Manuel Gray, Phoenix, Michael Gray (Rebecca), Queen Creek, Godmother Sandra Hatcher, Williams and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Allison was preceded in death by fraternal grandparents Henry and Essie Brown, maternal grandmother Mary L. Gray, uncle Eddie Brown and cousins Traci Brown and Simone Gray.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 starting at 11 a.m. at the South Phoenix Baptist Church, 2006 E Broadway Rd, Phoenix, Arizona. If planning to attend, please wear green, Allison’s favorite color.
