Mountain Man Run set for Labor Day weekend

WILLIAMS, Ariz. — The Williams Lions Club Eighth Annual Mountain Man Run 5K, 10K and Fun Run will be held on Labor Day, Sept. 3. All runners are encouraged to join in the fun again this year.

The run will begin at 7:30 a.m. with runners checking-in at 7 a.m. 5K and 10K runners will receive a tee-shirt upon registration. The race begins and ends at the Williams Recreation Center, located at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Grand Canyon Blvd. The three top runners for the 5K and 10K race will receive a medal to commemorate their win. Register at www.chronotrack.com with event number 34853. Runners may register for the event the morning of the event.

Volunteers are needed to assist with directing runners on the course, manning water tables and ensuring runners have a safe, successful run experience. Assignments are from 6:30 to 10 a.m. on Sept. 3. More information is available from Earl Haugen at (909) 261-0446 or (928) 635-5242. A free crew shirt will be provided to volunteers.

The proceeds of this race benefit local Williams residents who require vision services as well as local educational and health programs for needy children and adults.
