Pumpkin Patch Train departs Williams Train Depot starting Oct. 8
WILLIAMS, Ariz. — Fall is in the air and that means the fabled Grand Canyon Railway Pumpkin Patch Train is getting ready to depart.
On Oct. 8, the Pumpkin Patch Train departs for a secret pumpkin patch, only accessible by train.
The fun and unique 90-minute round-trip experience departs at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the weekends of Oct. 8-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30.
Tickets include the cost of the train ride, one pumpkin per child and admission to the many Halloween-themed activities, including a kid-size maze and pumpkin arts and crafts. Fall favorites including hot cider, pumpkin pie and hot chocolate are available for purchase on the platform.
The Colorado Shiver, an actual haunted passenger car, is not on the train given it’s too scary to be on for an extended period of time. However, the railway leaves the car at the station and does not charge admission to go on board.
Passengers on the Pumpkin Patch Train will have around 30 to 45 minutes to pick out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch before the train returns to the Williams Train Depot.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children. Pumpkin Patch Train reservations may be made at www.thetrain.com/special-events/the-pumpkin-patch or by calling 1-800-The-Train (1-800-843- 8724). Tickets are also available for purchase at the Depot.
