TUSAYAN, Ariz. - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the newly installed Community Development Block Grant project restroom, parking lot and sidewalks.

Members of the Tusayan Town Council and community members celebrated the completion of the projects May 5 at the Tusayan Sports Complex.

The project has been ongoing for several years and was funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) by the Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG). CDBG's offer a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of development needs.

In 2014, the town received the $250,000 grant to install restrooms at the complex and began planning the design and deciding the best way to bring needed utilities to the site. The completed restrooms replaced port-a-potties at the center. The prefabricated restroom building was delivered to the site earlier this year. The restrooms automatically lock between 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.
