Obituary: James O. Harvey

James O. Harvey, born September 9, 1926, in Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on October 22, 2015, in Tempe, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Erma, a brother, Charles, Jr.

He joined the Navy in 1944, graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BA degree in journalism. His past jobs included radio station news director, and public affairs for the Air Force at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He wrote about prehistoric hunters and Arizona and Navajo history for newspapers, magazines and the internet and wrote a book for young people about ancient hunters.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 59 years, a son, Jared (Cecilia) and two daughters, Gwen Lucero (Tom), and Lauri Taylor. We miss him dearly.
