Tradition continues with 21st Xanterra employee Olympics
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Once again the competition, excitement and fun of the Xanterra South Rim Property Olympics presided as employees gathered for the 21st consecutive year July 16.
Along with a barbecue that blasted smoky aromas throughout the park, the sound of laughing and cheering filled the air as the employees competed against one another in physical and mentally challenging events.
"I think this is the best employee event in the park," said Jon Streit, general manager Xanterra South Rim. "It's wonderful to see so many people having a great time and enjoying the good food."
Along with the barbecue, side dishes included fresh fruit and vegetable salads, corn on the cob, cowboy beans and an assortment of desserts prepared by the El Tovar Bake Shop. A freezer full of specialty ice creams were also provided.
