Pet blessing Oct. 24
St. Johns' Episcopal-Lutheran church and SAVE. Meant to Rescue are sponsoring a Blessing of the Animals Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Wild West Junction.
Ladies handgun safety training class Oct. 24
The Williams Sportsman's Club is putting on a ladies handgun safety class takes place Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Williams Police Department with range training at 1 p.m. at the Williams shooting Range.

Rotary Auction Oct. 24
The 16th annual Western Harvest Auction raises money for Williams High School scholarships and other youth activities. The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Miss Kitty's Steak House at 642 E. Rte 66. More information is available by calling Jim Bultema at (928) 607-1210.
VFW Auxiliary selling balloons
The VFW Auxiliary for Matthew James Broehm Post 12128 will be selling balloons in honor of veterans. The Auxiliary will have a table set up at the National Bank of Arizona in Williams Oct. 23 and Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will be honoring veterans who have passed away with while balloons, current military with red balloons and all other veterans with blue balloons. Tags will be placed on the balloons, which will be released Nov. 11 at the memorial in Monument Park at 5 p.m.
VFW Auxiliary Wreaths Across America sponsorships
The VFW Auxiliary Matthew James Broehm Post 12128 will be selling Wreaths Across America sponsorships The wreaths are $15 for one. If two wreaths are purchased, a third wreath is donated.
The VFW Auxiliary will help with the laying of the wreaths at the National Cemetery in Prescott Dec. 12.
Wreath sponsorships can be purchased from any Auxiliary member or by calling (928) 225-0931. A table will be set up at the National Bank of Arizona in Williams Oct. 9 and 23 and Nov. 6. Sponsorships must be paid at that time.
"A Night to Remember" Costume Gala and Show Dec. 5
Grand Canyon Renaissance Experience is having a costume gala, dinner show and community presentation Dec. 5 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $30 for a couple, $16 for singles with advanced purchase.

VFW seeks new members
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary to Matthew James Broehm Post 12128 is looking for new members. At the national convention in June 2015, a rule was passed saying that the auxiliaries may seek male relatives of VFW eligible veterans for membership. All fathers, husbands, sons, grandsons and brothers can now join. Those interested may pick up applications at the VFW Post, 117 W. Route 66, Suite 160, by the door.

Big Buck Contest
A Big Buck contest and raffle is open to all units south of Grand Canyon. The hunter to score the widest buck (outside to outside) will win a PSE Surge Bow with full package.
The contest ends Jan. 31, 2016 and the drawing takes place Feb. 1 at The Outdoor Store.
