Vikings clean up at fall sports banquet

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - Williams High School football and volleyball players were honored at the annual fall sports banquet Nov. 17.

Claiming varsity football awards were Martin Soria (Most Valuable Player), Josh Sanders (Lineman of the Year), Cruz Pearson (Most Improved Player) and Zack Perkins (Most Spirited and Defensive Player of the Year).

Varsity volleyball award winners included Dara Bowdon (Most Valuable Player), Destinee Pennington (Best Defensive Player), Rheanon Koss (Most Improved Player) and Kami Batterton (Most Spirited and (Offensive Player of the Year).

Junior varsity football awards went to Michael McNelly (Most Valuable Player), Joe Zabala (Most Improved Player) and Zack Perkins (Most Spirited Player).

Junior varsity volleyball awards were given to Veronica Hernandez (Most Valuable Player), Tori Maebe (Most Improved Player), and Sarah Smith (Most Spirited Player).

Football letters were awarded to Zabala, Perkins, Soria, Pearson, Sanders, McNelly, Juaquin Gutierrez, Emmanuel Flores, Diego Pedraza, Paulino Ayala, Jesus Benitez, Daniel Lopez, Tate Grantham, Brandon Martinez, Kenne Hoag, Art Martinez, Carlos Mejia, Francisco Ortiz, Ethan Johnson, Luis Cardenas, Mario Pedraza and Joaquin Gutierrez.

Volleyball letters were given to Bowdon, Batterton, Koss, Pennington, Andrea Hernandez, Rylie Heap, Paige Kmetz, Maddie Jensen, Athena Kennelly and Frenchesca Pennington,

Special awards were given to football managers Brandon Tully and Anessa Amavizca.
