Obituary: David Michael Gardner
David Michael "Mike" Gardner, 70, passed away Dec. 5, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Bountiful, Utah. He was born Jan. 21, 1944 in Winslow, Arizona to Edmund and Evelyn Gardner.
He graduated from Williams High School in 1962 and moved to Kingman to work as a mechanic for Dunton Motors. He later went to work for Duval Mine as a heavy equipment mechanic. He took a vacation trip to Anchorage, Alaska and stayed there. He worked as a mechanic at the airport. Later he went to work when schools unified.
He retired in 2005 from Kingman Unified School District No. 20.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Tracy Ririe (Dean) and their children, Megan, Melody and James; Kristi Haslam (John) and their children Jennifer, Johnny, Dusty and Brady; Nadine Morton and her daughter Sloan; Marlys Thompson (Dean); brothers Curtis Gardner of Flagstaff and sister Cheri Davis of Kingman; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, brother, sister and nephew.
The family is putting him to rest in the family plot in the Williams Cemetery on May 23 at 1 p.m. After we are done, a gathering of family and friends for a potluck will take place at the American Legion building. Everyone is welcome.
