Missing man on South Rim of Grand Canyon found

Grand Canyon, Ariz. - Twenty-seven year old Justin Kremer of Tempe, Arizona, who was reported missing on July 31, was located by search crews at Grand Canyon National Park Aug. 2.

On July 31 the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a phone call reporting a missing individual at the park. Original reports indicated that Kremer could possibly be despondent and had last been seen along the West Rim Drive area,

Kremer was initially believed to have left the Grand Canyon area and law enforcement officials had asked for assistance locating him and his vehicle.

On August 2, search and rescue crews and investigators, from the park, were able to locate and contact Kremer near Mescalero Point, west of Grand Canyon Village. Kremer was transported back to Grand Canyon Village before being transported to Flagstaff for further evaluation.

The National Park Service Investigative Services Branch, Grand Canyon Fire and Aviation Team and Grand Canyon Search and Rescue Team were involved in the successful location of Kremer. Over the course of two days multiple agencies also assisted in the search for Kremer including Arizona Department of Public Safety Air Rescue, Coconino County Sheriff's Department and the Kaibab National Forest.
