Chamber mixer Oct. 3

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce will put on a networking mixer and ribbon cutting Oct. 3 at Heritage Accounting and Tax, LLC, 321 E. Route 66.

The mixer will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and include appetizers and raffle prizes. Certified Financial Planner George Glen and his wife Katie will be on hand to welcome attendees and Mayor John Moore will cut the ribbon.

The mixer will benefit SAVE-Meant to Rescue, a non-profit organization formed to rescue local unwanted pets and place them in loving homes in Williams and surrounding communities.

New post office hours start Oct. 6

Starting Oct. 6, the Williams Post Office will have new hours of operation. The post office will be open 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The post office is at 120 S. First St. More information is available at (928) 635-4572.

Let's Talk Shopping panel Oct. 6

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce will put on its quarterly "Let's Talk..." member event to help business owners Oct. 6 from noon to 1 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 113 S. First St.

This second session is "Let's Talk...Shopping," in which the panel of speakers will discuss customer trends in the retail and restaurant industries and hot to create a business storefront.

Guest speakers will be Jill Johnston from Boutique 66, Anna Dick from Grand Canyon Coffee and Café, Sierra Miller from Williams Realty and Christmas Tree Gallery, and Maryellen Fleming-Hoffman from Grand Canyon Railway. Attendees should RSVP to Pimi at (928) 635-0273.

Genealogy workshop Oct. 16

The Daughters of the American Revolution will put on a free genealogy presentation Oct. 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. The presentation will take place at the Coconino/Flagstaff Library Downtown Branch.

Laugh Yoga Wednesdays

The Williams Laugh Synergy Laughter Club will meet for free Humpday Laugh Yoga on Wednesday nights from 6 to 6:45 p.m. at the Sultana Theater, 305 W. Route 66.

Laughter Yoga is non-political, non-religious and non-competitive. Participants laugh for better health, joy, world peace or no reason at all. It is based on the philosophy of "acting happiness" and is a physically oriented technique, not a mental practice. Laughter is an efficient way to express and release tension in a positive manner.

Gospel concert Oct. 8

The Steel Magnolias will present a gospel concert on Oct. 8 at the Community United Methodist Church, 127 W. Sherman Ave. The free concert starts at 7 p.m. and lasts about an hour. Radio station yard sale Oct. 11

KZBX 92.1 FM, Williams' not for profit radio station, is putting on a yard sale on Oct. 11. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church parking lot, 629 W. Grant Ave. Donations are appreciated and can be dropped off on Oct. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. KZBX serves the Williams community with live music broadcasts, town events, Amber Alerts, traffic and weather. Rotary Western Auction set for Oct. 25

The Williams Rotary Club is preparing for its 15th annual Western Auction for scholarships on Oct. 25.

The event will take place at Miss Kitty's at the Mountainside Inn. Live music starts at 5 p.m. and a catered dinner starts at 6 p.m. The evening will also include a live auction, costume contest and a grand prize drawing for $5,000.

Tickets are $35 per person and support Williams youth activities. Donations can be dropped off at the Williams School District Office at 636 S. Seventh St.

Big Buck contest on through Jan. 31

A Big Buck contest and raffle is open to all units south of Grand Canyon. The hunter to score the widest buck (outside to outside) will win a PSE Surge Bow with full package.

The contest ends Jan. 31, 2015 and the drawing takes place Feb. 1 at The Outdoor Store.

Sheridan Hill Band to perform at Wild West Junction Friday

The Sheridan Hill Band will perform its final engagement in Williams Friday at the Wild West Junction.

The Beavers family will move to Nashville, Tennessee in the coming weeks.

The performance begins at 5 p.m.

Girls Night Out Oct. 10

Amanda's Beauty Box & 66 Boutique will host a Girls Night Out shopping and fashion runway show Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Sultana Theater. Proceeds benefit SAVE-Meant to Rescue (MTR).

Many vendors will be on hand and raffles will take place.

DJ music will take place after the fashion show.

Tickets are $10 and include the fashion show, appetizers and champagne. Tickets are available at Amanda's Beauty Box, 66 Boutique or through SAVE-MTR members.

Zombie Prom Oct. 31

A Zombie Prom takes place Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Sultana Theater. The Tainted Angel, LLC will put on the Zombie Prom.

Proceeds benefit SAVE-Meant to Rescue.

There will be a cash bar, brain eating contest, photo booth, 80s theme dance, creepy finger foods, contests and prizes - lots of family fun for everyone.

Stargazing will also take place at Glassburn Park to look at ghoulish stars and planets that night.

Craft Fair vendors needed

Vendors are needed for the 11th annual Holiday Craft Fair Nov. 29.

This is a fundraiser for the SAVE-MTR (Meant To Rescue) Animal Facility here in Williams.

The fair takes place at the Sultana Theater from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Diabetes support group information

Folklorico dancing open to community

Dancing Divas practice Friday

The Dancing Divas meet each Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave.

This free dance group gets together to learn various types of dance such as western, jazz, ethnic and tap.
