Business beat: Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique opens on Route 66
WILLIAMS, Ariz. - Pet owners no longer have to drive to Flagstaff for their pet care needs thanks to the new Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique and Supplies store in Williams.
The store celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 1. Dr. Daniel Jacoby and Traci Fulkerson started the pet store as an extension of the Williams Veterinary Clinic.
"We went to a vet conference and we saw this (dog themed) sweatshirt and I said, 'It would be so cool to carry those in the clinic,'" Fulkerson said. "And we're like, 'We just don't have room.' And then it just snowballed from there and then within the next week or two we were like, 'Let's open a pet place.'"
The store sells items such as pet food, treats, toys, collars, training items, behavioral tools, joint supplements, crates and clothing for pets and people. The store also carries a small selection of bird and fish food, which the owners plan to expand. They also hope to carry items for rabbits and guinea pigs in the future.
"We don't sell anybody a product that we don't thoroughly understand," Fulkerson said of the store's inventory. "We just love all of our clients and their pets so this is so perfect."
On Nov. 30, Santa Clause will visit Spoiled Rotten from noon to 5 p.m. to take pictures with pets. The proceeds will go to help feral cats and animals in need.
In the spring, the owners plan to build a dog park in the store's parking lot where dogs can play and where the store will offer dog training. In the new year they'll start selling pet memorial bricks to help pay for the dog park.
Spoiled Rotten is at 517 E. Historic Route 66. Winter hours are Thursday and Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The store is pet friendly. More information is available at (928) 635-2172.
