GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Despite being a small town, Tusayan will celebrate our nation's birthday in grand style this Friday.

The 36th annual Fourth of July celebration, organized by Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau and local businesses, will feature an exciting parade, a variety of delicious food vendors, fun games for kids, live music and more.

Kicking off the event, traditional kids' games, sponsored by Grand Canyon Jeeps, start at 10:30 a.m. In the meantime, local food vendors will be on hand with traditional American fare, dishing up corn dogs, cotton candy, snow cones and more. Williams-based Grand Canyon Brewing Company will serve beer.

The parade starts at 2:30 p.m., and will head down Highway 64 through Tusayan. This year's Grand Marshal is local resident and District Officer of the Year, Shaun Shields.

Kids can decorate their bikes and be part of the parade with decorations supplied by Bright Angel Bicycling.

The fun doesn't stop after the parade, Stylus, a six-piece Flagstaff band that plays classic rock and classic R&B, will perform at 3 p.m.

There's still time to get involved. Those interested in participating in the parade or reserving a booth can contact Clarinda Vail at (928) 606-0360.
