WILLIAMS, Ariz. - People can enjoy an evening of food, music and art at the seventh annual Taste of Williams festival.

The event takes place Sept. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Elephant Rocks Golf Course, 2200 Country Club Road.

Attendees will enjoy sampling great food, wine and micro-brews from local restaurants and breweries. Last year more then 15 restaurants, 6 wineries and two breweries participated. In addition, they'll be able to visit with local artists and enjoy live entertainment. Classical guitarist Craig Yarbrough will provide the music for the evening.

Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce President Gioia Goodrum said she is looking forward to this year's Taste of Williams.

"It's a fun event for our community," Goodrum said. "It's a great cause for our community as well, it goes back to our community."

A silent auction will take place during the event, with some of the proceeds going toward scholarships for local high school students or local teachers.

"Each year we have teachers that are struggling at the end of the summer before they get paid, because they don't get paid for a couple of weeks, and sometimes things happen in people's lives so it's a small amount of money," Goodrum said. "It's up to $500 per teacher that can really help them maybe get through a tough time."

Organizers are still accepting donations from local businesses for the auction.

In addition, the centerpieces from the Taste of Williams will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Williams Food Bank.

"It gets into the fall and we're looking at Christmas and Thanksgiving and all of the food that they need to provide to our needy families," Goodrum said.

Tickets for the Taste of Williams are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. People can also buy tickets for the event along with a ticket for a round of golf for $65 in advance of $70 at the door. Tickets are available at the Williams & Forest Service Visitor Center and Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce, 200 W. Railroad Ave. Attendees must be 21 or older.
