Victor James "Sonny" Hughes
Victor James "Sonny" Hughes of Ash Fork, Ariz. passed away on May 25, 2013. He was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on May 28, 1944 to Victor L. and Irene Hughes.
He is survived by his former wife, Nancy K. Hughes of Paulden, Ariz.; two daughters, Stephanie Hughes of Mesa, Ariz. and Laura Hughes-Stiverson of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Chastity Hughes and Mark Hughes of Mesa and Brittni Hughes and Killian Stiverson of Prescott Valley; two sisters, Marcella Lawlor of Phoenix, and Vicki Causey of Jacksonville, Fla. and a brother, Robert Findley of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Williams, Phoenix, and Jacksonville.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Phyllis Morales of Phoenix, and Linda Pettit of Williams. Over the years, he owned and operated Moonlight Trucking in Marlow, Okla. and Paulden, Ariz. and Moonlight Emu Farm and Sonny's Bar, both in Marlow.
Sonny was also the president and founder of the Oklahoma Emu Association. Family who loved him dearly surrounded Sonny at the time of his death. He will be missed by many. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. There will be a pot luck dinner after the service at the city of Williams Cataract Lake by the golf course in the County Park.
