Friday school at GCS
Grand Canyon School (GCS) offers Friday school for any sixth to 12th grade students needing additional help. Students can come by on their own if they feel the need for extra help or teachers can refer them. Friday school is in the 410 lab at the high school building from 9 a.m. to noon. No transportation or meals are provided. Staff reserves the right to dismiss any student disruptive to the learning environment.

Adult open gym basketball
Adults in the Grand Canyon/Tusayan community can play full-court basketball games every Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The free activity takes place at the Grand Canyon School Gym.
Win a trip for two to Las Vegas
The Rec Center will randomly choose one person from selected sponsored activities to enter into a drawing. The drawing will be April 1 and the winner will receive a free trip for two to Las Vegas. The trip will take place in May in conjunction with the Rec Center program. The free trip includes motor-coach transportation to and from Las Vegas and two nights of lodging (double occupancy). Those who enter the drawing must be 18 years or older.
Personal trainer available
Personal trainer Terri Attridge is providing personal training at the Grand Canyon Rec Center once a week. Interested parties may email email@example.com for further details.
Arizona Kith and Kin Project to start Jan. 30
An informal gathering with others who care for children in their homes will be offered at the Grand Canyon Rec Center. Training, support and equipment including car seats, cribs, fire extinguishers and smoke alarms is available at no cost. Training topics include: brain development, health and safety, positive communication, first aid/CPR certification, activities for children, nutrition, developmental ages and stages and guidance and discipline. Meetings will be Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Grand Canyon Recreation and Community Center, 1 Mohave St. in Grand Canyon. Childcare is provided at no cost. Grand Canyon Yoga in session
Grand Canyon Yoga is offering a Gentle Beginner yoga session. The sessions continue through Feb. 6 and meets at the Recreation Center from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The sessions focus on the three phases of letting go, basic breathing exercises, modified and standard poses, therapeutic stretches and proper alignment.
