Mrs. Mary Platten, Mrs. Ivan Wilson and the Misses Bryce Bowdon, Charlotte Anne and Harriet Wilson returned on Monday from a visit to the North Side. The party made the Grand Canyon-Bryce-Zion-Las Vegas-Boulder City loop, leaving after noon on Sunday.
50 years ago May 31, 1962
Points of tourist interest that attract visitors to Williams have been singled out for mention in the new 1962 edition of the Mobil Travel Guide. Williams motels given a one star rating in the guide are Del Sue, Downtowner, Highlander, Hull's and Norris. El Rancho gets two stars and Thunderbird Inn, three stars. Rod's Steak House was given two stars.

Carol Hodgkins was honored with a bridal shower hosted by Mrs. Hal Nelson. Miss Hodgkins and Dennis Johnson will be married Saturday, June 11 at Community United Methodist Church. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hodgkins. Mr. Johnson's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson, all of Williams.
