WAAG to host rabies clinic March 31

The Williams Animal Action Group (WAAG) is staging the 27th Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic 12-3 p.m. March 31 at the Williams Rodeo Barn, corner of Airport and Rodeo roads.

Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will cost only $7. This includes the legal certificate and tag.

City of Williams pet licenses will be available at the same clinic. You must have proof of current rabies vaccinations to get a city tag. Also bring proof that your pet is spayed for the discounted $5 fee. After March 31, city licenses will be $10 for altered dogs and $25 for unaltered dogs.

Any healthy pet 12 weeks or older, not pregnant or nursing a litter can be vaccinated. The first rabies shot is good for one year. Afterwards, the booster shots are good for three years. Look at your current rabies vaccination certificate to see if your pets are due for a booster shot. Pets that had a three-year vaccination in 2009 are due this year for revaccination. Please bring your old rabies certificates with you to the clinic March 31. Update address info.

This weekend WAAG is blessed to have the support of the local activist group, Students Against Destructive Decisions. Saturday they will be holding a rummage sale at St. John's Episcopal-Lutheran Church, corner of Second and Grant, 8 a.m.-noon. You can drop off donations for the sale between 4-7 p.m. Friday. Proceeds will support WAAG's spay and neuter program.
