Grand Canyon After Dark
Enjoy a world-class dinner theatre experience in downtown Tusayan at Grand Canyon Dinner Theatre and Steakhouse
Grand Canyon Dinner Theatre and Steakhouse is a world-class dinner theatre in Tusayan featuring an original musical, Miss Kitty's Grand Adventure "I'm No Mail Order Bride."
The show is set in the early 1900's and begins with a delightful encounter on the Grand Canyon train platform between Miss Kitty, a young girl from Philadelphia who has come to the Wild West to work as a Harvey Girl waitress, and a cast of characters who are bubbling over with talent and song.
Follow Miss Kitty as the devious Captain Ogilvy and the 'shady lady' Madame de Murska try to befriend her. A happy-go-lucky prospector, Cockeyed Frank Carson, mistakes her for his mail order bride and a handsome young cowboy, Shane Guthrie, rides to her rescue. Can she trust the Captain and Madame de Murska? Should she sing in their Wild West Revue? Is it wrong for her to have feelings for the handsome cowboy when she's made a promise to another?
Miss Kitty's Grand Adventure unfolds on a brilliant stage that features a wall-to-wall video screen as a backdrop and a sound system that delivers every song in stunning quality (two seatings nightly) that will leave the audience clamoring for more.
The Grand Canyon Dinner Theatre didn't forget the dinner when they designed the entertainment experience in both of the venue's restaurants. The dinner that comes with the show is bountiful, served family-style with a great range of entrées and bowls and platters of side dishes delivered to every table. The Steakhouse features flame seared steaks, chops, poultry, and fish specials. Vegetarians have not been forgotten in either dining area and patrons can belly up to a monumental western bar for drinks and banter with colorful local bartenders. The wait staff is decked out in period costume with the waitresses wearing Harvey Girl style uniforms.
The Dinner Theatre is lined with building facades of an old west town, accented by deer antler chandeliers. The playroom has been built to create the look and feel of an 1890's gas light theatre, complete with red velvet draperies and lamp posts that stood originally on the streets of Tombstone in the early 1900's. The dinner video pre-show is projected on two huge video screens and features a look at life in the west...both past and present.
