Williams 911: Week of June 6, 2012

The Williams Police Department in conjunction with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety completed the Memorial Day weekend DUI enforcement activities. The Governors Office of Highway Safety sponsors DUI enforcement grants to ensure local law enforcement have the tools they need for safe/free DUI streets and highways. The Williams Police Department had two DUI arrests over the weekend, with no serious DUI related traffic accidents thanks in part to the Governor's Office of Highway Safety DUI program.

The Williams Police Department answered the following calls for service -

• Officers took a report of theft of water from a fire hydrant on Fifth and Railroad.

• Officers took a report of illegal dumping on Lazy E.

• Officers responded to a missing child who didn't get on a bus on Seventh. The child was found safe.

• Officers took a report of juveniles sexting.

• Officers took a report of trespass at an RV park.

• Officers took a report of theft in the golf course area.

• Officers responded to a domestic on Airport. A male was arrested for assault.

• Officers assisted with the Williams High School graduation and Grad Night.

• Officers assisted the Williams Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) and APS with a downed electrical line on Edison.

• Officers assisted the WVFD with a vehicle fire on Route 66.

• Officers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff's Office with shots fired on Utopia.

• Officers took a report of theft on Third.

• Officers took a criminal damage report at a hotel.

• Officers took a criminal damage report on Sheridan.

• Officers arrested a female for DUI on Fifth and Sherman.

• Officers investigated a non-injury accident on First and Grant.

• Officers responded to Sixth in reference to a reckless driver.

• Officers responded to Kaibab in reference to shots fired.

• Officers responded to Third and Route 66 in reference to an assault. No one would prosecute or cooperate.

• Officers arrested a male for aggravated DUI on Route 66.

• Officers responded to a disturbance on Second. A male was arrested for a violation of a court order, criminal damage and stalking.

• Officers responded to a fight on Third and Route 66. A female was arrested for assault.

• Officers took a report of theft on Frank Way.

• Officers responded to a verbal disturbance on First. The parties were separated.

• Officers took a report of tires slashed at three different motels.

• Officers cited a male for drinking in public on Sixth and Grant.

• Officers responded to an alarm on Second and Route 66.

• Officers took a report of an assault on Third and Route 66.

• Officers responded to a man with a knife threatening on Fifth and Sheridan. The suspect was gone when officers arrive. The case remains under investigation.

• Officers arrested a male on Grant for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Officers took a report of trespassing at a hotel.

• Officers cited a male for underage consumption on Third and Route 66.

• Officers took a report of an aggravated assault on Newton.

• Officers issued 22 citations, and gave out 48 warnings.
