Letter: Thanks to all that made swimming lessons possible
To the editor:
The Friends of the Williams Aquatic Center (FWAC) want to express their sincere thanks to everyone who helped support our service project this year: sponsoring free swimming lessons to the community.
Special thanks go to: Rose Newbold at the Parks and Recreation Department; Sherry Sleeper and her awesome staff at the Williams Aquatic Center; the Williams-Grand Canyon News for advertising the voucher program; the Greater Williams Community Fund (GWCF) for their generous $1,500 grant; everyone who took part in the program, and the two little girls who wrote us a very cute "Thank You" note.
We realize that classes filled up fast and that not every voucher holder was able to get their free lessons. For those voucher holders, rest assured that your vouchers will be honored next year.
To help account for the unused vouchers, FWAC asks that you please return your vouchers to the Williams Aquatic Center or to Clare Hydock at the Williams Ranger District. We especially need to know how many vouchers paid for by the GWCF grant were not used; this is a requirement for the grant. If you have any questions please call Clare Hydock at (928) 235-5321.
It has been FWAC's pleasure to serve our community by offering free swim lessons. We thank everyone for their continued support of our goal to return the Williams Aquatic Center to year-round operation.
