Duffy resigns from city finance post
WILLIAMS, Ariz. - City of Williams Finance Director Joe Duffy has resigned from his position effective July 19.
Duffy will step into the finance director position in Chino Valley. Officials with the town of Chino Valley, Ariz. announced the hire during a Chino Valley City Council meeting held June 26.
Williams city Manager Brandon Buchanan said the search for a new finance director is under way.
"We have started the search process already," Buchanan said, adding that an initial review of applications will take place in the first week of August with interviews to follow.
Buchanan said the city will likely receive a fair number of applications for the position.
"It's a specialized field, no doubt, but there are always candidates out there," Buchanan said.
According to Buchanan, Duffy's institutional knowledge will be missed.
"It is something we will deal with," he said.
