WILLIAMS, Ariz. - Start practicing your best hog calling sounds and get ready to win some prizes and help a few good horses in need.

The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant is sponsoring the Second Annual Hog Calling Contest 12-3 p.m. Aug. 4. Funds raised will provide much needed help for R&R Horse Rescue. Every $10 entry fee, all of the baked good and raffle sales, as well as a portion of all barbecue lunch sales will be awarded to R&R Horse Rescue.

Rescue horses Joey and Bubba are currently housed in an open field at R&R Horse Rescue in Williams and are in need of a corral, barn and run-in shelters to make their lives a little easier.

Open to the public and free admission, the Second Annual Hog Calling Contest is family friendly and hog callers of all ages are encouraged to join in. The event will be held in the Sultana Theater at 306 W. Route 66. Live music will be provided by local Williams band, 44 Rimfire.

Area businesses who have volunteered raffle prizes include Williams Feed and Pet, Addicted to Deals, Dream Things Lingerie, the Singing Pig BBQ and White Mountain Bait & Tackle.

Anyone who wants to donate a prize should contact Dave and Jo Remender, owners of R&R Horse Rescue, at (928) 202-1378. Donations of help on the ranch are also welcome and appreciated. Further information is available at
