Sheriffs arrest suspect in Garland Prairie burglary

PARKS, Ariz. - Coconino County Sheriff's deputies arrested 25-year-old Colt Henson Nov. 28 on charges of misdemeanor theft, trafficking in stolen property, first degree burglary and felony theft of a firearm after investigating items he sold at a local pawn shop.

During the past year, Williams/Grand Canyon Patrol District deputies investigated approximately five residential burglaries in the Garland Prairie area south of Parks.

Officials mentioned Henson as a possible suspect during an unrelated investigation.

In response, a sergeant checked Henson's local pawn activity and found that Henson had recently sold two items. One was a shotgun of an uncommon caliber and model and the other was a necklace depicting an oriental symbol.

Officials believed that a burglar took both items during a residential burglary in Garland Prairie.

On Nov. 28, a deputy contacted Henson. During an interview, Henson admitted involvement in the residential burglary during which the shotgun and necklace were taken.
