Valle man linked to 8 burglaries in 6 months
Homeowner caught images of 18-year-old Winston Taylor Gallagher on camera
VALLE, Ariz. - Coconino County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies arrested 18-year-old Winston Taylor Gallagher of Valle on charges of residential burglary after a homeowner recorded images of him with a game camera.
Approximately eight residential burglaries have occurred in the last six months in the Valle area. After one homeowner was burglarized, he placed game cameras around his property in case the suspect returned for a second burglary.
Officials believe a second burglary occurred at the same residence Oct. 31. After reviewing the images from the game cameras, a Williams Patrol District officer recognized Gallagher from previous contacts he had with the suspect.
During a Nov. 21 CCSO interview with Gallagher, the suspect implicated himself in the first burglary at the previously mentioned residence.
Gallagher was arrested for one count of residential burglary, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of misdemeanor theft and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff's deputies took him into custody at the Coconino County Detention Facility.
After an anonymous tip, deputies searched an out-building on Gallagher's property on Nov. 24. The deputies found approximately 20 items they believe are from residential burglaries.
After more anonymous information, deputies searched two Valle residences Nov. 27 where Gallagher frequently stayed. The deputies found 30 more items they believe were taken during at least three of the reported burglaries.
Detectives are continuing the investigation and anticipate additional charges. Those who live in the Valle area and have experienced a residential burglary in the last year are encouraged to call the Coconino County Sheriff's Office at (928) 774-4523.
