Cataract 4-H Club dominates county fair

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -The Cataract 4-H Club came home from the 2011 Coconino County Fair with many prizes.

Cole Cameron exhibited the grand champion market lamb and it was purchased by Brackin Ranches. Bailee Cameron came in second with the reserve champion market lamb and Chisolm Wells exhibited the third place lamb at the fair. Bailee won the junior grand champion showman with her lamb and Chisolm was reserve champion novice showman.

Cole also won grand champion market goat, purchased at the auction by Aspen Veterinary Clinic and Emily McCann, also of Cataract 4-H, won reserve champion market goat. Jaxx Jacobsen and Bailee Cameron came in third and fourth with their market goat projects.

Emily McCann won grand champion novice market goat showman. Tagen Jacobsen won grand champion senior doe in the dairy goat division and Nolwenn Bowen won grand champion junior doe. Nolwenn took home the best of show with her dairy goat.

Abigail McCann won grand champion bantam chicken. Marie Jacobsen won grand champion novice showman. Jaxx Jacobsen won best of breed with his satin rabbit.

The Cataract 4-H Club also won the club work award for exhibiting the most amount of club work in the club work building (based on the number of members in the club).

Enrollment for the 2012 4-H year will be held at 5 pm. today at the Williams Rodeo Barn. The first meeting of the new year will be Jan. 18.
