Community United Methodist Church

Mother's Day will be celebrated Saturday, May 7, when Sisters-in-Spirit share with the community in honoring mothers and daughters during the annual Mother-Daughter Banquet. Ladies, we are all daughters. Come and bring your mom, a friend or a daughter and enjoy a great evening. We will be starting at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in the social hall.

Tickets will be available at the door or at the Camp Civitan Store (old dry cleaners) on Route 66. This year tickets will be $7 or $3.50 for girls 5-12-years-old. There is no charge for children age 4 and under. You will enjoy an evening of fun and good food and lots of fellowship.

Weekly fellowship opportunities include -

• Monday - 6 p.m. Cub Scout meeting.

• Tuesday - 1-3 p.m. Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters.

• Saturday - 6 p.m. Mother-Daughter Banquet.

• Sunday - 8:45 a.m. adult Bible study; 10 a.m. Worship/Young Disciples Church; and 11:30 a.m. fellowship.

St. John's Episcopal Lutheran Church

Rejoice in the Lord and give thanks.

All are reminded that there will be no Sunday School or Book Study for the month of May.

There will be a Vestry Meeting Sunday, May 22 following the worship service and potluck lunch.

All are welcome to the 10:30 a.m. worship service with communion. Nursery care is provided.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church welcomes Dr. J. Andrew McDaniel (Pastor Andy) as our new pastor. Pastor Andy and his family arrived in Williams the end of April from Wisconsin. His first Sunday in the pulpit was May 1. We are excited to present him and his family to our community. Join us as neighbors and welcome them to our town.

We have something for everyone at First Baptist. There are small groups held in homes and groups that meet at the church. We are a Christ-centered Christian church and everyone is important to us. • Today - Women's Bible Study at Edith's, 10 a.m.; Teen Ministry begins at 6 p.m. at the church.

• Monday - 9-11 a.m. Women's Bible Study.

• Tuesday - Women's Bible study, 10 a.m. at the church; and, Men's Bible group, 7 p.m. at the church.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

The Boy Scout Court of Honor ceremony begins at 6 p.m. May 13.

We welcome you to our church. Our activities include:

• Wednesday, 7 p.m., Cub Scout Pack No. 138 (8-11 years), Boy Scout Troop No. 138 (12-17 years), Young Men/Young Women (12-17 years), and Achievement Day Girls (8-11 years).

• Sunday - 10 a.m., Sacrament Meeting; 11:20 a.m. Sunday School, Primary and Nursery; and 12:10 p.m. Priesthood, Relief Society and Young Men/Young Women.

Jehovah's Witnesses

The Jehovah's Witnesses warmly welcome you to their weekly Bible meetings:

• Sunday - Bible discourse, 10 a.m.; Watchtower study, Matthew 6:10.

• Thursday - Theocratic Ministry School, Congregation Bible Study, service meeting, 7:30 p.m., John 6:45.

All meetings are held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5495 N. Sunset Strip, and are open to the public.

Family Harvest Church

We invite all to join us for any of our scheduled services or Bible studies.

Monday at 6 p.m., Pastor David leads our men's Bible study in the verse by verse study of the gospel of John. Jennifer leads the women's study through Joyce Myers' book, "Never Give Up."

Taylor leads the girls' teen study on the subject of "Dignity."

Young adult Bible study for ages 17-30 will be held at 7:15 p.m.

Wednesday at 6 p.m., Pastor Tim and Steve will be leading our adult Bible study.

Thursday at 6 p.m., youth night is led by Troy and Debbie.

Sunday at 8:45 a.m. is our adult Sunday school class, "Life Lessons." The class is led by Mitchel and Pastor Tim.

Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. is our worship services. Pastor Tim will be preaching a series on Sunday morning called "The Seven Churches of Revelation." Nursery and children's church are provided on Sunday morning.

Calvary Chapel Williams

This week's regularly scheduled church events include -

• Wednesday - Midweek study begins at 7 p.m. We are currently studying in First Samuel.

• Thursday - Junior and Senior High School Youth Group meets at 7 p.m. at the church.

• Sunday - An Hour of Prayer begins at 9 a.m. Please join us to pray for the needs of our community, state, nation and world. Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike is currently teaching through the Book of Romans.

• Tuesday - The Ladies' Bible Study will be meeting at 9 a.m. at Denny's for breakfast.

Canyon Chapel Foursquare

Regular weekly services include -

• Tuesday - 6 p.m. Hispanic Bible study.

• Thursday - 6 p.m. youth meeting.

• Sunday celebration service at 10 a.m. We are studying relationships and being dynamic people of God.

St. Joseph Catholic Church

Weekly events include -

• Friday - 8 a.m., Benediction and Holy Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

• Saturday - 4 p.m., Confessions; 5 p.m., Holy Rosary; 5:30 p.m., English Mass; 6:45 p.m., Santo Rosario; 7 p.m., Spanish Mass.

• Sunday - 7:30 a.m., Holy Rosary; 8 a.m., Holy Mass. Join us at 3 p.m. in the Church Hall for prayer, fellowship and coffee.

• Tuesday - 8:40 a.m., Liturgy of the Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

Northwoods AG invites you to weekly fellowship -

• SOUPER Wednesdays at 6 p.m. - Join Pastor Scott and the Northwoods family for a bowl of hot soup and warm bread before an adult Bible study. "What the Bible Says" series is an open discussion of the foundational truths in the Bible and the Christian faith. Children's Bible lessons, videos and crafts are available for toddlers through fifth grade. We are now serving young adults through teen activities, discipleship and academic tutoring. Bring the whole family.

• Adult and Youth Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. Adults can expect relevant Bible lessons with in depth studies for those mature/maturing in the Christian faith. Children's lessons include hands-on activities and crafts while emphasizing a personal relationship with Jesus.

• Pastor's Coffee begins at 10 a.m. Sundays. Join the pastor and the rest of the Northwoods family for coffee and pastry. Pastor's Coffee is an informal get together for fellowship, and information about Northwoods Assembly of God. It is open to anyone who has questions.

• Celebration Service, Sunday at 10:30 a.m., passionate worship and relevant, Biblical messages.

• May's Open Prayer Celebration begins at 6 p.m. May 28.
