Ducky Race is Saturday

Contestants are still needed for the Friends of the Williams Aquatic Center's Second Annual Ducky Race at 1 p.m. Saturday. The finish line will be near the bridge on Route 66 near Dairy Queen.

First place is worth $100, second - $50 and third place - $25. Other great prizes will be awarded.

The "eggs" will sell for $5 each or five for $20. You can purchase your eggs from any member of the Williams Aquatic Center. The money will be used to extend the hours/days of the pool once it reopens in May. Eggs can also be purchased from the Business of the Week table at National Bank on Friday. Eggs can also be purchased 10-11:30 a.m. in front of Dairy Queen the day of the race. The money raised will be used to extend the length of time the pool will be open this summer.

Dancing Divas to perform Friday

The Dancing Divas will offer a special performance 12-12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave. "Jest Foolin'" will offer a few dance routines and a song or two.

Help food bank by eating pizza Friday

Money is needed to fund the Community Easter Egg Hunt and families in need during the Easter holiday. Eat pizza 4-8 p.m. Friday - dine in or carry out - at Pizza Hut, 888 N. Grand Canyon Blvd. Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of all sales to the Williams Food Bank.

Pizza Hut will be collecting non-perishable food items that day. Their drivers will even pick up your donation when they deliver your pizza. The Williams Food Bank is also raffling off a Dodge truck. Enter the drawing when you visit Pizza Hut April 1.

Blue Ribbon nominations accepted

Everyone is invited to nominate an exceptional individual youth (grades pre-kindergarten through 12th) for a Blue Ribbon Award. Nomination forms are available at the Williams Elementary-Middle School and Williams High School Offices, and the Williams Recreation Center.

Nominees should be good role models/mentors, exhibiting the 40 Developmental Assets. Explain how they "Make a Difference" in our community. Forms must be turned in by Tuesday. The Blue Ribbon Awards Ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on April 28 at the Williams Recreation Center. This event is sponsored by the Williams Alliance and the Williams Child Abuse Prevention Council. Join Relay for Life April 6

Relay for Life organizers are hosting a kick off party at 6 p.m. April 6 at the Days Inn conference room, 2488 W. Route 66. Anyone who wishes to participate is invited to attend. To find out how you can help, call Leah Payne at (928) 310-4989.

Spaghetti dinner, Opry Night on the way

Eat spaghetti and raise scholarship funds for students at the Kiwanis Spaghetti fundraiser 4-6 p.m. April 8 at the Williams Rodeo Barn, corner of Airport and Rodeo roads. Habitat for Humanity's Opry Night follows at 6:30 p.m.

The cost to eat is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. Donations for desserts will be accepted. Entrance to Opry is $6 per adult and $3 for seniors and students. Tickets for families of four are $15. Attend both the Opry and spaghetti dinner for $10 per adult, $7 for seniors and students and $30 for a family of four. A cakewalk, auction and raffle will be offered.

Carnival is on the way

The Williams Spring Fling Carnival comes to Williams April 21-24 to the Williams Rodeo Grounds. Pre-sale all day wristbands are on sale at the Williams-Forest Service Visitor Center and the Williams Recreation Center for $18 each, a $7 savings off the gate price.
