The Williams-Grand Canyon News will now be printed one day earlier. This has changed all deadlines. All legal and classified advertising must be submitted by 3 p.m. Thursday to appear in Wednesday's edition. Grand Canyon display ads must be submitted by 3 p.m. Thursday. All Williams display advertising must be submitted by noon each Friday. All Grand Canyon News submissions are due by 5 p.m. Thursday. All Williams News editorial submissions are due by 5 p.m. Friday. The paper will still be delivered Wednesday.

Seligman Days promises fun for all

Seligman Days begins Friday and lasts through Sunday. The folks of Seligman invite all to enjoy old-fashioned fun starting Friday with a cookout and entertainment at 5 p.m. at Discount Foods.

The Miss Seligman Route 66 Pageant begins at 6:30 p.m. at the school. A dance begins at the Black Cat at 8 p.m.

The Seligman Climb to Conquer Cancer will be held 6-9 a.m. Saturday with a softball tournament following at the school. Enjoy a horseshoe tournament at 10 a.m. at the OK followed by a Block Party 2-5 p.m. The Block Party will feature games including a dunk tank and cow plop.

A Beer and Wine Silent Auction runs 2-8 p.m., along with live music and a barbecue.

The parade begins at 7 p.m. Music at the Snow Cap will be offered 1-5 p.m. and 8-11 p.m. Enjoy beer pong 3-6 p.m. and more.

On Sunday, start the day with a pancake breakfast 7-10 a.m. The softball tournament continues.

Be A Hero - donate blood

Williams High School is sponsoring the summer Williams Community Blood Drive today in the Safeway parking lot. The United Blood Services has scheduled the drive from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

All donors in July and August will receive a voucher for a one-day gate pass to the Coconino County Fair, courtesy of Coconino County Parks and Recreation. Additional drawings will be held for Pine Country Restaurant gift certificates and all donors are also eligible to enter to win a VW Jetta.

School bond town hall in Valle on Monday

Officials with the Williams Unified School District are hosting a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Planes of Fame Air Museum in Valle. Officials will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on the upcoming school bond election, which will be held in November. VFW meets tomorrow

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will meet 6-7 p.m. tomorrow at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave.

Please bring a copy of your DD214. If you do not have one, VFW can assist you in obtaining one. If you are a U.S. citizen and served in a conflict zone, Korea, 30 days consecutive or 60 days non-consecutive, or an area where you received hostile, fire/ emminent danger pay, then you are eligible to join. Spouses are also invited.

Help youth go back to school July 22

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber Ambassadors July mixer will be held 5-7 p.m. on July 22 at Rosa's Cantina, 411 N. Grand Canyon Blvd.

Join the ambassadors for an evening of fun, networking and fundraising for the Back to School Resource Fair. The 50/50 benefit for this mixer will be the Back to School Resource Fair.

Please bring items needed to help local youth get ready for back to school. Items needed include glue sticks, crayons, pencil sharpeners, child safe scissors, colored pencils, plastic rulers, highlighters, rectangular erasers, pencil erasers, spiral-bound paper, loose-leaf notebook paper, two-pocket folders and scientific calculators.

Shooting range available for practice Saturday

The Williams Sportsman's Club and city of Williams Range will be available for practice to members 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday. The gate must be kept closed due to grazing cattle. For information on joining the club, check www.WilliamsSportsmansClub.org - Membership Info.

Williams High reunion plans under way

The Annual Williams High School Alumni Reunion will be held again this year the weekend following Labor Day, Sept. 9-11. All classes through the '60s have made this an annual event for a number of years. This year's festivities are hosted by the class of 1961.

Rejuvenate with 'Girlfriends' Weekend'

Carra Riley, local small business consultant, author and resident is presenting "Girlfriends Reinvention Weekend to Reboot Your Brain Camp" with certified master coach, Joeann Fossland at William's own Camp Civitan, Aug. 19-21.

The three-day event will include speakers sharing their source of inspiration in overcoming the economic, physical and family changes happening right now. The speakers will be diverse with input from Native American background to higher direction from within.

The program will ask the question, "who am I and what is my reason for being?" The weekend is going to give participants time to answer or at least start processing those important life questions. Relay wants your $1

The Williams Relay for Life Committee is conducting a new fundraiser in which everyone can participate. If everyone in Williams donates just $1 to the Relay, at least $3,000 can be raised to fight cancer.

Safeway hosting food drive

Safeway is conducting a food drive through the end of July. A large display is at the front of the store where donations can be left. All food will remain locally and will be distributed by the Williams Food Bank.
