Teachers' Supply Drive Jan. 21
The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite all to the first mixer of 2011. The annual Teachers' Supply Drive Mixer will be held 5-7 p.m. Jan. 21 at Rosa's Cantina, 411 N. Grand Canyon Blvd.
Hosts are Rosa's owners Ken and Terri Alexander. Every year teachers often spend their own money to purchase school supplies. Some of the items the teachers are requesting include pencil sharpeners, 70-page notebooks, highlighters, post it notes, small erasers, student dictionaries, classroom pencil sharpeners, student folders, three-hole punches, crayola markers, copy paper, and colored construction paper. Everyone is encouraged to donate school supplies. Supplies collected will be distributed to Parks, Williams and Ash Fork schools.
Join Dancing Grannies Friday
Dancing Grannies meets 1-2 p.m. Fridays at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave. The ladies continue to learn low aerobic dance routines along with tap dancing.
For more information on how to join or if you want the Dancing Grannies to perform, contact Barb Bryden at (224) 392-4443. You do not have to be a grandmother to join. Grannies in training are welcome.
Kiwanis Club wants your coats
The Williams Kiwanis Club is conducting a coat drive. The club is seeking used coats in good condition to be distributed to those in need throughout winter. Coats can be left during normal business hours at the Williams Recreation Center and Williams Realty. Ogden's Cleaners in Flagstaff will clean the coats prior to distribution.
