Lonn Eric (Lonnie) Kesterson
Lonn Eric (Lonnie) Kesterson, 50, of Williams, passed from this world Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Flagstaff Medical Center following a valiant fight against cancer.
Lonnie was a loving and loyal husband, brother, friend, and one of those every day heroes whose lives often go unsung but for those of us who will never forget. Lonn was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, July 15, 1960. He loved his wife, Janet, their house on the mountain, their dogs, the animals of the forest, and he loved his work. Lonnie found his calling as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Flagstaff. He and the crew from the city of Flagstaff paved the way for public works projects in the good weather and plowed snowbound streets in the winter. As a firefighter and member of High Country Fire and Rescue, he helped save property and lives.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Janet; and his brothers and their wives, Ed and Sue, of Tucson, and Roger and Rhonda, of Casa Grande.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, and mother, Kay (Rogers).
Services were privately held. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
