First Baptist Church

The Word of God is preached with compassion, encouragement and joy. It is our desire and prayer for all who attend to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and for all to see the hope that lies within a personal relationship with Him. We are a Christ-centered church that loves the Lord and His people. We praise the Lord with an exciting mix of music and specials. Our prayer is that no one will leave the same as they came. Complete your week by worshiping with us Sunday.

We have most recently added a mid-week service which is being held here at the church on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. It is a time of Bible study, prayer, and music. We have something for everyone. Our weekly schedule not only includes Sunday School for children and adults but also includes Bible studies and small groups. Call for current information on dates and times of our small group meetings.

Christian counseling is available. Please call for an appointment. Pastor's Sunday Messages now available on CD. Weekly events include:

• Today - Teen Ministry begins at 6 p.m. at the church.

• Thursday - 6:25 p.m. adult choir practice.

• Sunday - Sunday school (all ages), 9:30 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m., nursery provided; and children's church, 11 a.m.

• Monday - Office closed for Labor Day.

• Tuesday - Mid-Week Service begins at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Calvary Chapel Williams

This week's regularly scheduled church events include -

• Wednesday - Midweek Study is on break this week.

• Thursday - Junior and Senior High School Youth Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

• Friday - College and Young Adult Study will meet at 5 p.m. at the church.

• Sunday - An Hour of Prayer begins at 9 a.m. Please join us to pray for the needs of our community, state, nation and world. Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike is currently teaching through the Book of 1 Corinthians.

Canyon Chapel Foursquare

Community United Methodist Church

Weekly fellowship opportunities include -

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

We welcome you to our church. Our activities include:

• Wednesday, 7 p.m., Cub Scout Pack No. 138 (8-11 years), Boy Scout Troop No. 138 (12-17 years), Young Men/Young Women (12-17 years), and Achievement Day Girls (8-11 years).

St. John's Episcopal Lutheran Church

The new gate for the Community Garden is progressing well. Stop by to see and rest awhile in the garden. Bring your lunch. It is quite a tranquil spot.

Book Study continues at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday School will begin Sunday with a group (all ages) study of the Lord's Supper. The time for class will be 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Our new church schedule will begin Sunday, Sept. 18 and is as follows:

• Book Study, 9-9:45 a.m.

• Sunday School, 11 a.m.-noon.

We'd like to welcome our new deacon-in-training, Scott Deasy.

Jehovah's Witnesses

The Jehovah's Witnesses warmly welcome you to their weekly Bible meetings:

• Sunday - Bible discourse, 10 a.m.; Watchtower study, Matthew 6:10.

• Thursday - Theocratic Ministry School, Congregation Bible Study, service meeting, 7:30 p.m., John 6:45.

All meetings are held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5495 N. Sunset Strip, and are open to the public.

Family Harvest Church

Senior Pastor Tim Milner and Associate Pastor David Gutshall invite you to be our guest every week. We are a Christ centered church. Loving people and bringing them into a relationship with God through his Son Jesus Christ is our main focus. God will never let you down.

Sunday Bible study starts at 8:45 a.m. Worship and word begins at 10:30 a.m. Kids' church and nursery begin at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship starts at 6 p.m. The last Sunday of the month we are involved in the community service.

Every other Monday young adult Bible study starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday adult Bible study begins at 6 p.m. Youth night begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Christian Solution for Addictions is Jesus begins at 7 p.m. Friday.

Religious Education classes started Sunday. Classes will be held 10:30 a.m.-noon. Registration has been extended to Sept. 25.

• Saturday - 4 p.m., Confessions; 5 p.m., Holy Rosary; 5:30 p.m., English Mass; 6:45 p.m., Santo Rosario; 7 p.m., Spanish Mass.

• Sunday - 7:30 a.m., Holy Rosary; 8 a.m., Holy Mass. Join us at 3 p.m. in the Church Hall for prayer, fellowship and coffee.

• Tuesday - 8:40 a.m., Liturgy of the Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.
