Lope the Loop at Mountain Man Run on Labor Day
Proceeds will fund vision and hearing services in local area
WILLIAMS- The Williams Lions Club is holding a fundraiser to increase vision and hearing services in the Williams area with a 5K/10K run on Labor Day, Sept. 5. The 10K, for the more serious runners, begins at 10 a.m. The 5K, beginning at 10:05 a.m., is a fun run/walk. Both routes will begin at the Williams Rodeo Grounds and will cover portions of Route 66.
Runners can register online at virtual roster.com. Cost is $35 for the 10K and $25 for the 5K. Early registrants will receive a Mountain Man Run T-shirt.
On Sunday, Sept. 4, from 6-8 p.m., please join the Williams Kiwanis Club for a Pasta Party and Silent Auction at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on the corner of Second and Sherman. Kiwanis will be providing pasta with a choice of vegetarian, beef and elk marinara sauces. Entertainment will be provided by The Sweet Lemon. Cost will be $20 per person, $50 per family. Tickets are available at Williams Wear or by calling Edie Phillips at 635-4784, Pat Coolidge at 635-1965, or Patty Williams at 635-0194. Tickets will be sold in advance only - purchase them by Aug. 26.
The Silent Auction features a number of items, including an electric wine cooler, KC HiLites Daylighter off-road lighting system, bison print from DeBerge Gallery, a painting by Bonnie Dent, and many other great items.
Volunteers are needed to help direct runners along the route and to staff water tables. If interested, contact Pat Coolidge at 635-1965. Volunteers will receive a crew T-shirt and training on Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. and/or Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Cureton Park.
Any runners out there are invited to Lope the Loop and help the Williams Lions Club raise funds for eye exams, glasses and hearing aids for individuals in the Williams area.
