Letter: Snow did not keep folks away from Opry
To the editor:
Mother Nature likes to shower the Opry Night with snow. But that doesn't affect many people of our wonderful community. Nearly 160 people braved the elements to enjoy the music provided by local musicians.
Thanks to each of you as you helped raise $1,472 with admission, raffles, auction and the cakewalks. A special thanks go to all the businesses that donated items. Without you, Habitat for Humanity would have a difficult time raising funds.
Our next fundraiser is the yard sale on June 3-4 at the parking lot of the First Baptist Church. If you have items to donate, please call Ruth at 635-0386, otherwise bring them to the parking lot the morning of the sale. Please, no large appliances. Everything will be sold for a donation. You choose the price you feel the items are worth.
More exciting news is Habitat for Humanity will be breaking ground on their second home in the very near future. We would appreciate your help with the building or providing refreshments for the workers.
